Palmolive is one such brand you should never use. Owned by Colgate, in 2015 Palmolive sales totaled $16 billion worldwide. Although Dawn is the best-selling dish soap brand in the United States, Palmolive is in the top 5 worldwide, meaning that a lot of us have been or are exposed to its toxic ingredients.

 

 #1- Formaldehyde

We all know what formaldehyde does. It preserves bodies and other body flesh that would otherwise go bad. It is also present in disinfectant products like dish soaps. Formaldehyde has been found in Ajax, Palmolive and Dawn dish soaps as well as other common household products. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classifies it as a known  human carcinogen. The National Toxicology Program, an interagency program of the Department of Health and Human Services, named formaldehyde as a known human carcinogen in its 14th Report on Carcinogens

A 2009 study by the National Cancer Institute strengthens the link between exposure to formaldehyde and several forms of cancer, including leukemia. The 30-year study, which tracked the health of nearly 25,000 men exposed to the chemical in industrial plants, is likely to impact a long-awaited Environmental Protection Agency risk assessment of formaldehyde.

The study shows that workers exposed to higher amounts of formaldehyde had a 37 percent greater risk of death from blood and lymphatic cancers, and a 78 percent greater risk of leukemia than those with lower exposures.

For all this, Palmolive says that they are going to take out this dangerous chemical from the products by the end of 2017.

 

 #2- Sulfuric Acid

This chemical is considered as carcinogenic and can cause burns upon contact with the skin or sensitive nasal passages when exposed in large amounts. However, The US Food and Drug Administration states that this substance is Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS).

The International Agency for Research into Cancer (IARC), classified sulfuric acid mists as causing cancer in humans. Specifically, the IARC concluded, “There is sufficient evidence that occupational exposure to strong inorganic acid mists containing sulfuric acid is carcinogenic.”

These conclusions are based on worker health studies in a number of industries involving exposure to sulfuric acid mists. Thus workers in fertilizer plants, steel pickling plants and chemical and soap manufacturing have shown increases in lung, nasal and larynx cancers. An acid mist is a suspension of acid droplets in air. (Skin or eye contact with sulfuric acid, while dangerous in their own right, do not appear to cause increased rates of cancer.)

Fragrance can be made up of a combination of 3,000 chemicals that do not have to be disclosed to customers. hat’s according to the online “Transparency List” put out by the International Fragrance Association, an industry trade group.

Research conducted by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics found an average of 14 chemicals in 17 name brand fragrance products. But it doesn’t stop there — none of these chemicals were actually listed on the label.

According to the Breast Cancer Fund, when it comes to the prevention of cancer, avoiding synthetic fragrance is one of the main ways to help yourself. That’s because the dangers of synthetic scents include hormone-disrupting phthalates and synthetic musks.

In 2003, Rick Simpson discovered three suspicious spots on his face and neck and was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma skin cancer. Rick’s decision was to apply cannabis oil to his skin cancer. He applied his cannabis oil to some bandages and put them on the skin cancer.  After 4 days of waiting he decided it was time to see if anything had happened under the bandages.  To Ricks surprise the cancer was gone.  His cannabis oil had cured his cancer.

Rick recounted his story to the Serbian magazine Telegraph. He began his story: “It was 2002. The doctors had given up on me because I’d had more than one unsuccessful operation on three pigmented lesions on my face’s skin. As soon as these were removed, they would reappear even more infected! Since I had been studying plants as a hobby for years, one day as I was looking at my wounds in the mirror, I remembered a study from the University of Virginia that said that THC, an active component of cannabis could cure cancer. I took some cannabis oil I had prepared beforehand from the cabinet and dripped a few drops directly on the wound.”

“After four days I removed the bandages and I couldn’t believe my eyes! The wound was no longer there, and my skin was regenerated! I immediately started talking to people about how I had cured skin cancer with cannabis oil… Everyone laughed at me, but then eleven and a half years have passed, and the cancer still hasn’t returned.”

In 2008 a filmmaker named Christian Laurette released the first free documentary on YouTube sharing Rick’s story. Mike Cutler, was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer in 2009. After losing consciousness at work, Mike was taken to the hospital for a complete workup. What they discovered was the worst news he could have heard. His doctor eventually obtained a CT scan which showed extensive hepatocellular (liver) cancer. Due to the widespread involvement of the cancer he was given only three months to live.

Mike’s doctors called him lucky since he was a candidate for a liver transplant which can be a cure. He received a new liver in November of 2009. For over two years after the transplant Mike was doing well but, by 2012 his cancer had returned. As is often the case, his “new” liver cancer was much more aggressive.

Mr Cutler received numerous bouts of chemotherapy and radiotherapy in a futile attempt to stop the relentless advance of his cancer. Finally, the hospital admitted defeat and sent Mike home to die. He was given a bag full of one litre bottles of morphine tincture and tablets of extended release morphine, Zomorph 30 mg for pain, lots of pain.

From Dying to Living

At home he was miserable with severe, unrelenting abdominal pain. In addition, he had to deal with the loss of his “top set of teeth” from the toxic effects of chemotherapy. Moreover, the chemo had injured his pancreas and he eventually developed type I diabetes. Because of the chemo he had to take insulin for the rest of his life. In a interview, mr. Cutler said:

“They’re-cut my 25″ scar to insert a mesh to hold my stomach together, which in turn caused trauma to my nerve endings. How has it affected my life? These last couple of years have been a constant extreme pain, caused me to be bed ridden, I needed help to dress, bathe and undress. Finding out I could die was terrible. All I had in those dark days was my laptop, and that’s when I began searching for something else that could help me – I couldn’t accept I was going to die.”

Desperate to survive, he began to look online – and found a YouTube video (Run From the Cure), which described the use of cannabis oil as a cure. He claims that just three days after taking the class B drug, his excruciating pain disappeared.

In 2014, the grandfather-of-nine went for a biopsy at the Royal Free Hospital in London. To his relief, doctors told him the new cancerous cells had vanished. A spokeswoman for the Royal Free Hospital confirmed Mr Cutler had not received any cancer treatment since his transplant in November 2009.

Darren Miller was 50 years old when he was told he had (at most) 1 year to live due to inoperable lung and pericardial sac cancer and that was when he immediately began chemotherapy. Not long after the bad news, Darren and his wife Amy spoke with Mark Pederson, co-founder of the ECS Therapy Center in Peoria, and Rick Simpson” regarding medical cannabis for treating cancer.

Darren decided to try the holistic route, after the chemo left him feeling dazed and confused. He obtained a legal medical cannabis card in his state and within 24 hours of use. In an interview, Darren said that his mouth sores were vanished completely, while he had no idea what the state of his tumors were.

By combining chemo treatments with medical cannabis, Darren was able, within just six months, to get his cancer under control and his blood work showed normal counts for the first time in years.

Darren told reporters, “…Today, which is seven months later, they tell me I am completely cancer-free–not remission. I’ve cured my cancer. Now, am I giving credit to the cannabis oil? Absolutely. Am I giving credit to chemo? I would have to say yes, too. I did both…”

Miller plans to take a small dose of cannabis oil each day for the rest of his life to keep the lung cancer from returning or taking hold in other parts of his body.

Dennis was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in February 2010, when six biopsies revealed cancerous regions with high Gleason scores, a measure of aggressiveness. Although his urologist made an appointment to start radiation, Dennis declined in favor of cannabis extract therapy, which he learned was a potentially viable option.

In 2013, on the website www.cureyourowncancer.org, Dennis wrote his history and said: “Three years ago, after a prostate biopsy, I was given the diagnosis of aggressive Stage III adenocarcinoma. It just so happened that the first human trials of cannabis treatment of astrocytomas (inoperable brain cancer), were published with encouraging results.

So I decided; rather than die from the medical treatment, I would do the cannabis cure. Now… where to get some. There was no dispensary in the area, but a friend made me cannabis butter, so I took that, up to tolerance. In three months the primary cancer was gone, only minor metastatic lesions were left. At that point I found a supplier for Rick Simpson’s oil and killed off the metastases in the next three months. Now I just take a maintenance dose of locally produced hash oil that is 1:1 THC:CBD with about a 30% potency. This will certainly keep me clear of cancer, anywhere, for ever.”

Remission and Recovery from Cancer

After only three months, the main tumor was gone, but a few metastatic lesions remained. In another three months, all traces of cancer were gone.

In an interview Dennis explain how the whole six months treatment that evolved from cannabis butter to whole plant hash oil created no interruptions with his daily life. He is a former track scholarship athlete at the University of Houston, and he runs two miles every morning, which he continued all through his high dosage cannabis treatment. He also never missed a day of work at either of his two jobs during that time.

He said he actually enjoyed the treatment. He took two doses daily, before work was a smaller dose and after work a heavier dose.

About Trevor lifestyle now, Carol says that: “My husband completely changed the way he eats, he has no dairy or sugar, no white flour or white potatoes, he has mainly a plant based diet with a little fish or chicken and no processed food, pastries meats cheeses etc, he had Essiac, he had mega doses of vitamin C and D3, vitamin B17, K2, detox powder’s initially, then he had DHEA to build his immune system back so that his body could heal itself, then a year after doing all of this, we found cannabis oil and added that to all we had done, he did 90 days on the cannabis oil and then maintenance dose of rice grain size two or 3 times weekly. It has been hard for 18 months but it is a success story which we will continue to tell the world about.”

Shona Banda may not have battled Cancer, but her eight year war with Crohn’s disease had her bedridden most of the time and walking with a cane. She was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease around 2004. She underwent several surgeries and was put on several pharmaceuticals, but her condition worsened progressively until she was considered terminal. For over two years after the transplant Mike was doing well but, by 2012 his cancer had returned. As is often the case, his “new” liver cancer was much more aggressive.
  • Mr Cutler received numerous bouts of chemotherapy and radiotherapy in a futile attempt to stop the relentless advance of his cancer. Finally, the hospital admitted defeat and sent Mike home to die. He was given a bag full of one litre bottles of morphine tincture and tablets of extended release morphine, Zomorph 30 mg for pain, lots of pain.

From Dying to Living

  • Desperate to survive, he began to look online – and found a YouTube video (Run From The Cure), which described the use of cannabis oil as a cure. He claims that just three days after taking the class B drug, his excruciating pain disappeared.

  • Dennis was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in February 2010, when six biopsies revealed cancerous regions with high Gleason scores, a measure of aggressiveness. Although his urologist made an appointment to start radiation, Dennis declined in favor of cannabis extract therapy, which he learned was a potentially viable option.
  • After only three months, the main tumor was gone, but a few metastatic lesions remained.   • David Triplett had skin cancer on his nose that was treated and then came back. The pictures he took over the course of his treatment show small dark spots on his nose growing and then disappearing.

M&M’s are a staple product in the candy industry. They were one of the first of their kind, and their unique design prevents the chocolate from melting during long trips; making them popular for use in trail mix. In fact, they were originally made for soldiers during the 1940’s; so that they could enjoy a sweet treat without having it lose its shape throughout the day.

Reasons to Never Eat an M&M Ever Again

It is not simply one ingredient in M&M’s that has the potential for negative consequences. There are actually numerous ingredients that are considered questionable in terms of health. Here there is a list of 6 reasons to never eat an M&M ever again:

1- The health factor

Okay, you probably didn’t expect chocolate candy to be healthy. While organic chocolate or raw cacao are actually a healthy treat for you, the factor in the candy coating and any of the fillings are very bad. When you consider peanut butter, pretzels, peanuts, almond, mint and dark chocolate, you have a tiny treat loaded with sugar and calories.

The 2013-2014 Journal of Clinical Investigation released the results of an in vitro study that analyzed the results of increased sugar uptake and oncogenesis (cancer creation). The results demonstrated that increased glucose uptake had a direct and positive correlation to the early phases of cancer cell production.

Moreover, a prospective study published in 2006 found that high consumption of sugar and high-sugar foods were linked to a greater risk of pancreatic cancer, and a different study showed similar results for breast cancer patients.  Also, a 2012 study from the National Cancer Institute, researchers followed 435,674 men and women for more than seven years and found that people who consumed more added sugar had higher rates of esophageal adenocarcinoma, small intestine cancer, and cancer in the lining of the lungs.

Soy lecithin is one of the most ubiquitous additives in our food supply. It’s used primarily as an emulsifier, and you can find it in everything from salad dressing to tea bags. Paleo dieters avoid the brunt of it by eliminating most processed foods, but it almost always pops up in chocolate (like M&M) and often appears in supplements.

In 2007, the GMO Compass reported that soy lecithin, like many food products in American supermarkets, contained genetically modified soy. Genetically modified, or GM, foods are biotechnically changed to increase yields and resistance to herbicides and insects. Some health-food advocates and scientists have concerns with the potential long-term impact from eating genetically modified food. For example, a study published in the “Journal of Applied Toxicology” discovered that mice fed GMO soybean developed a decrease in pancreatic function. Although the nutrition of the soy was not altered, the study showed that as few as five days of feeding GM food caused pancreatic cellular changes, which were reversed after 30 days of non-GM foods.

Back in 1976, Red Dye #2 was banned from the use of food after being discovered to be carcinogenic. This was the key food color used to in M&M’s colorful snacks. But, when the dye was reintroduced (at the form of Red Dye #40) into food products in 1983, M&M jumped right back into its use, much to the dismay of their consumers.

Red #40 is a certified color that comes from petroleum distillates or coal tars. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) mandates that it has to be listed by name on food and product labels. Additives that don’t need to be specified on labels are called “exempt.” These colorings are made from plant, animal, or mineral sources.

According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest, Red 40 and other AFCs can cause allergic reactions in some people. Research shows they can also cause hyperactivity in children and immune system tumors in mice. Red 40 contains p-Cresidine, which the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says is “reasonably anticipated” to be a human carcinogen.

One study found that Red 40 lowers reproductive success in rats. It also reduced parental and offspring weight, decreased brain weight, and lowered chances for survival in newborn rats. The authors said the colorant showed evidence of physical and behavioral toxicity in developing rats that consumed Red 40 as 10 percent of their diet. The Environmental Working Group lists the overall hazard level for Red 40 as low. Other entities claim it is highly toxic, most importantly because people are unaware of how much they are exposed to it.

 

Blue No. 1 or Brilliant Blue, is a water-soluble coloring used in many baked goods, beverages, dessert powders, candies, cereals, drugs, and other products. Blue 1 received FDA approval for general use in foods and ingested drugs in 1969. In 1982, the FDA permanently approved the color for use in externally applied drugs and general use in cosmetics excluding the area of the eye.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest published “Food Dyes: a Rainbow of Risks”. According to this paper, in 2009, Rowland performed a chronic toxicity/carcinogenicity study on Blue 1 in 48 males/group and 50 females/group of ASH/CS1 mice. The mice were administered 0, 0.015, 0.15, or 1.5% Blue 1 in their diets for only 80 weeks. Seven out of the surviving 30 male mice in the 0.15% group had kidney tumors compared to only 1 kidney tumor in the 44 surviving controls. The increase in kidney tumor rates was statistically significant (p<0.05). However, no dose-response relationship was said to be found, diminishing, but not eliminating, concern about carcinogenicity (data on the 1.5% group were not provided).

This study, which was conducted by the British Industrial Biological Research Association, a now-defunct industry-sponsored organization, was reviewed by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and published in abstract form in an IARC monograph, but for unknown reasons the full study was never published.

In September 2007, a study reported by D. McCann and colleagues in the journal “The Lancet” linked artificial colorings, including Blue No. 2, to hyperactivity. Nearly 300 children in the study were given a beverage with artificial colors and a preservative. Drinking the beverage resulted in increased hyperactivity in the children, which the researchers attributed to the artificial coloring or the preservative or both. As a result, one candy company, Nestlé-Rowntree, stopped selling one of its candies with a blue shell until it replaced the artificial color with a new blue color made from spirulina, a blue-green algae.

Yellow dye #6 is a sulfonated version of Sudan I, a possible carcinogen which is frequently present in it as an impurity. Sunset Yellow itself may be responsible for causing an allergic reaction, resulting in various symptoms, including gastric upset, diarrhea, vomiting, nettle rash (urticaria), swelling of the skin (angioedema) and migraines. The coloring has also been linked to hyperactivity in young children.

A study conducted by the Department of Biology of Atlanta University found that Tartrazine (Yellow #5) induce chromosomal aberrations in mammalian cells. In the study Sister chromatid exchanges (SCEs) and chromosomal aberrations induced by curcumin (a natural dye) and tartrazine (a synthetic dye) were studied on bone marrow cells of mice and rats following acute and chronic exposure via the diet. Except for two low concentrations in the curcumin and one low concentration in the tartrazine treated series a significant increase in SCEs was observed in all the concentrations of the two dyes tested. Except for two high concentrations during the 9 months treatment no significant increase in chromosomal aberrations was observed in the curcumin treated series, whereas tartrazine showed a significant increase in chromosomal aberrations in some of the higher concentrations in all the series tested. The results indicate that tartrazine is more clastogenic than curcumin.

 

According to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, most high fructose corn syrups contain either 42 percent or 55 percent fructose. The rest of the HFCS is glucose and water. HFCS 42 is typically what’s used in cereals, processed foods, baked goods and some beverages. HFCS 55 is used mainly in soft drinks. However, some HFCS contains up to 90 percent fructose.

A research from 2010 published by the American Association for Cancer Research found that the fructose in HFCS promotes cancer growth, specifically pancreatic cancer. This study actually found that cancer cells can readily metabolize fructose and induce rapid reproduction of pancreatic cancer cells. Researchers also found that fructose and glucose metabolism are very different, with fructose causing more negative health reactions than glucose.

On the other hand, multiple studies have found alarming amounts of mercury in products containing high fructose corn syrup, which can contribute to dangerous mercury poisoning. A study by the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy found mercury in about a third of 55 popular brand name food and beverage products. These common products all had HFCS as the first or second highest labeled ingredients. Brands behind the products tested included Kraft, Quaker, Hershey’s and Smucker’s.

The Artificial dyes in M&M Today

In 2013,  a mother of two from Jamestown, New York, made  a petition in Change.org asking Mars, the maker of M&M’s candies, to stop coloring its products with petroleum-based artificial food dyes. Sponsored by the Center for Science in the Public Interest and Renee Shutters, the petition underscores the connection between artificial dyes and hyperactivity in children.

Two years later, Mars Inc. announced plans to get rid of all artificial colors from all of its human food products. The change will affect over 50 Mars-owned brands including M&M’s, Skittles, Wrigley’s gum, Snickers, and Twix. However, this change will take at least 5 years!

“Replacing artificial colors across all our products is a complex task. We expect it will take about five years to develop the full range of alternatives that guarantee the integrity and great taste of the products you know and love; and to go through the process of obtaining regulatory approval for all new ingredients in development.”

Although the company decided to eliminate the artificial colorings of the M&M, it will take 5 years to eliminate them completely from all the stores in the world. So the risk and damage to health, are still there, in each of those M&M candy.

The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest is billed as “the documentary series the mainstream media refused to air.” It consists of nine episodes and is produced by Ty Bollinger, an outspoken supporter of natural treatments for cancer. So, after losing seven members of his family to cancer over the course of a decade;Ty set out on a global quest to learn as much as he possibly could about cancer treatments; and the medical industry that surrounds the disease.

1st Episode: The True History of Chemo and The Pharmaceutical Monopoly

The first episode, is all about exposing the truth about the origins of big pharma and what is going on in the present day in the cancer industry together with chemotherapy and radiation. Ty covered the fact that the drug-intensive medical system today is not the way it is because chemical drugs are the best, but because back in the early 1900’s the Carnegie & Rockefeller Foundations went on a campaign of simultaneously showering the drug-focused medical schools with hundreds of millions of dollars (with the condition that they ONLY teach about chemical drugs) and smearing every other type of school such as homeopathy, naturopathy, chiropractic, etc. until they had created a monopoly on the medical system. Even today, the American Medical Association is find guilty; in federal court of conspiracy to destroy what’s left of the chiropractic profession.

The sad truth; that some of the same drug companies of today were directly responsible for the formation of the largest concentration camps in Nazi Germany; to use the prisoners as slave labor and test subjects came to light.
